Cheese Stick & Bacon - Low Carb Snack

Snacks are important when eating low carb. Anytime you get hungry, eat a low carb snack. Got a craving during that first week, low carb snacking will help and this is only 1g of carbs and is satisfying.

Ingredients :

Cheese Stick
Slice of Bacon


Whenever possible I try to use preservative free bacon. And during the couple weeks of being on low carb, I cookk up an entire package of bacon and keep it in air-tight conatiner in the fridge. It makes for a great snack.

Sometimes, I use a half sheet baking pan and a rack and cook the bacon in the oven (350 for about 25 minutes) or until nice and brown. This reduces the fat content somewhat, but it's still good.

I also still like to pan fry the bacon too. I'd suggest draining the oil from each batch during the cooking process if you are making a whole pound of bacon.

I think it goes well with cheddar sticks or mozarella sticks and is great to add to salads or eaten at breakfast. Perfect to have on hand during the first couple weeks for sure.
